Today we'll be talking about the Fi Smart Dog Collar!
The pros, the cons, and a review thus far.
I've been thinking about getting this product for the longest time. I was just on the fence with it because it it's price and I didn't know if it was actually worth it. I slept on it for a few months and as Zara's birthday was approaching, my boyfriend surprised me with the collar.

IP68 Waterproof Rating - the Fi was tested for 30min complete immersion at 1.5m deep in water as well as spray salt water resistance. So your dog can have a blast and you don’t worry about a thing.
Dirt Proof and Adventure Proof - Armored Aluminium Faceplate and Reinforced Internal Metal Armor for more resistance to bites.
LED Light - Pick a color and control the light from the Fi App
GPS Tracking - Fi uses three constellations of satellites to maximize the tracking speed and accuracy of the Fi Collar. GPS accuracy can get as accurate as 7ft radius in open sky.
Sleep Tracking - Fi collar monitors your dog’s behavior during their downtime, and displays easily digestible data-based visualizations and insights.
LTE-M Network - Fi is the first tracking collar to use the LTE-M cellular network to communicate GPS information. LTE-M is a new technology for low power, long distances communications. LTE-M signal reaches about 30% farther than 3G/4G/5G/LTE networks.
Escape Detection - Fi uses proprietary algorithms to detect when your dog escapes from your backyard. It is the fastest, most accurate way to be notified when your dog escapes and to find your dog after an escape.
Smart Power Management - Low power WiFi integration directly into the Fi module allows you to connect to your home WiFi network to save battery and improve accuracy. The Fi Collar is ‘smart’ and will dynamically connect to Wifi Access Points or local Bluetooth beacons, such as your phone or the Fi Charging base, to save energy and maximize battery life.

Other Neat Perks - You can create and tracking your dog's step goal for the day. Their step count also go towards a national and local ranking with other dogs. You also have Fi profile where you can upload photos, like, and comment on other Fi dog posts. Below is a snippet of Zara's step activity, her current ranking among other Fi dogs, and her Fi profile.

App is convenient for checking on your dogs activity
Cons
Cost: If you want to use the GPS tracking feature, you'll need to chose one of the following plans. If you're sticking for the long haul, why not do the 3 year plan?
Sooo...should you buy?
Personally for me, I think it's a great purchase! Especially since I leave Zara home for long periods of time, I like to know what her usual activity is while I'm out. This way, I can gauge how much exercise she'll need when I get home. I can also add other people into Zara's profile like my boyfriend, dog walkers, the sitter, etc. So if Zara's goes out of the house with a friend, I'll get a notification that she is with them. In addition to the cameras I have in the house, the GPS tracking on the collar gives me reassurance that Zara is home safe and sound.
